Uh...Overdue book assignment:
George's marvelleous medicine by Roald Dahl
This story is about a boy who live with his parents and his evil grandmother in a farm.
Grandma treats him horribly with her selfish and grumpy attitude. She takes a medicine every afternoon to keep her strong. George then manage to plot of a plan to get rid of his grandmother one afternoon while his mother was out. He found all the harmful item in his house and made them all up into a 'special medicine' that he gives it to his grandmother. Unexpectedly, his grandmother grew and her head crashed through the roof after taking the medicine. Being as tall as their house she did not freaked out but was glad that it all happened for she had been stucked in the house. When George's parents came back, they were shocked to find out that his Grandmother was so tall. George's father fed the medicine to his chicken and it grew about 10 the size of itself.
George's father tried to get the formular for the medicine so that he can become rich but no matter how hard George thinks he cannot remember all the ingredients as he just dumped in whatever he saw. But the other medicine did made his grandmother shrink but she was so small then she could not be found. They all lived happily ever after...
I will NOT recommend this book as it is gross and it is not really possible to a big chicken and grandmother,it teaches children bad thing too(how to get revenge on other people you dont like). Also the ending 'the grandmother shrunk but was nowhere to be seen' was ...disturbing because George's plot somehow worked out after all (without using the main plot). So this book is kind of weird...

Title: Rage of Angels
Author: Sidney Sheldon (Yes, it's a male.)
The story revolves around a girl named Jennifer who, on her first day as a lawyer, makes a devestating mistake that ends her short career.
Undeterred, she sets up her own small private law firm, in a building which she shares with a detective, whom Jennifer suspects to be gay.
After many successful cases, thanks to her out-of-the-box thinking, Jennifer can finally afford a large office all to herself.
Meanwhile, she gets involved with a man whom she met during the short span of her gig as a lawyer. Specifically, a married man.
Subsequently, she moves ahead on her career track, stirring up the attention of the local mafia, while feelings develop between herself and the married man, whom she kept in touch with and confided in.
Then, just when everything seems smooth sailing, she gets mysterious calls from an anonymous person.
Over the course of the next few months, she becomes a tool of the mafia, abeit an indispensable one, and in her pursuit of power as an attorney, she risks everything she knows and loves.
Without a doubt my favourite character is Jennifer, overlooking her bloodthirsty attitude in the courtroom. She is portrayed to be a cool and calm person, a quality which I highly value in a person.
I highly recommend this book. But you do need alot of time to digest it, its a 500page tome. Even if you have A.D.H.D, your total attention will be focused on this book.
Yeah, well. I'm done.

Book Title: Stranger with My FaceAuthor: Lois DuncanThis story main focus is Laurie. She leads a normal life until one day, people starts saying that she appeared in places when she did not go. Thus, many things starts to happen. Such as her friends claim that she betrayed her boyfriend, Gordon, as she was seen embracing another boy at the beach, when she did not. People started to complain about her that she was rude them when she did not. Thus Laurie starts to investigate, and found out that she was adopted and that she had another sister called Lia. They were both twins, given birth my a navajo mother. That explained why her look did not resembled her adoptive parents. Soon, she befriends a transfer student called Helen, and became good friends with her and told her secret to her. After this, Helen was found to be knocked into a coma and was in critical condition, it was said that she was pushed down the stairs in the park. Soon, the other friends of Laurie became victims too, for example, one of them was run over by a horse. Thinking that Lia is her sister, Laurie did not suspect her as she thought that if she were her sister she would never be bad to harm her. But on the other hand, Lia is trying to take over Laurie's place as she was jealous of Laurie for being adopted while she had to run form foster homes to another. So this book also teaches many values and themes. Such as jealousy, hatred and vegence. It also teaches you the love of parents and that you should not neglect it. The book is also very mysterious and surprising. It shows us how most teenagers want to fit in to the popular crowd. It shows the idiom '' do not judge a book by its cover.'' This book slowly reveals the mystery of Laurie's past and present life..........I like the book because it is so interesting that when you read it you can't stop. It has many surprises awaiting for the reader, that she or he would not expect to be. It also teaches many values as stated above. My favourite character in the book is Helen who is Laurie's friend. I admire her loyalty to the friendship between herself and Laurie and also her sense to reality. She is smart and very bold and does not seem to be surprised that Laurie was adopted.I strongly believe that you should read this book, as it is unbelievely great!!!!!Hannah Nah(11)

Title:A Christmas Carol
Author:Charles Dickens
You would have heard about Scrooge The Musical' which took place in Singapore esplanade last year during the December holidays. This storybook is the same as 'Scrooge The Musical'.It is about Scrooge a grumpy,tight-fisted old miser who refuses to celebrate Christmas. He thinks it it a waste of time. But on Christmas Eve the ghost of his old partner,Marley.comes to visit him.Marley brings Scrooge n a magical trip to the past, present and future.Scrooge was force to change his mind.My favourite character is Marley who has a good intension to change his friend's impression about Christmas. The character I least like is Scrooge he always seems grumpy and unfriendly.I like to recommend this book because, firstly, the book is very thin you can finish it within a few days, secondly,it is thriling and adventrous.

Book Title:Sons Of Fortune
By:Jeffrey Archer
This story is about two twin brothers who were separated at birth. One of them went to the real parents, while the other, thought to be dead, went to a multi-millionaire and his wife. They did not realize each other's existence for many years.Nat,the twin who lived with his biological parents came back from a war in Vietnam, and became a hero and was successful, and Fletcher, the other twin, graduated from a renowned University and becomes a criminal defence lawyer carried on with their separate lives until one day,Nat is wrongly accused of murdering his arch rival,Ralph Elliot, and Fletcher was to defend him then they knew the truth.Fletcher and Nat were then candidates for governor of state, and were made to go against each other.
Their votes were continuously a tie(for the third time),eventually, the mayor decided to toss a coin to decide the governor. Thus,Nat,out of luck, becomes governor of state.
In this book,it shows that sometimes luck is quite a big deal in your life,as Nat escaped death from the war, also escaped the sentence he would face if found guilty of murder and in the end, became governor.
The main characters are Nat and Fletcher, the brothers and their wives Su Ling and Annie respectively.
My favorite character is Nat as he shows alot of courage by taking risks, and by being emotionally strong even when his son was brutally murdered.I think he deserved to be governor of state as he has been through alot and is courageous.
My least favorite character is Rebecca Elliot as she is cheap and disregards Nat's feelings when they were an item. She also cheated on Nat,and eventually married Ralph Elliot, the man she despised.
I would recommend this book as there are many surprising twists and turns, and the plot is not something predictable.

The other three important people in the book is 1)Anna Marguerita 2) Trudi 3)The DreamMaker.
I recomend this book to everyone because it is very interesting and fun. The dreams are very special and we all know that dreams are not realisticin the world and it is real in this book. PRINCESS MIRROR-BELLE by Julia Donaldson
The setting of the story:At The Bathroom
The main characters are:Ellen and Mirror-Belle
About the Story:Ellen was off school with chickenpox, she didn't felt that ill but she felt sorry for herself as she was going to miss the school outing to the dolphin display.Ellen decided to have a look at her spots, she studied her face over the mirror in the bathroom when suddenly a voice was talking to her.A girl ,exactly the same spitting image of Ellen, came out from the mirror and said that her bathroom is ten times bigger than her's and she is a princess from a magical, faraway palace. After many happy moments together, they became friends but Mirror-Belle has a naughty character and is about to lead Ellen into all kinds of amazing and exciting adventures...
This book tells me that we should just be what we want and not hear other people's words in order to be ourselves.Although there is a spitting image between Ellen and Mirror-Belle,they cant be exactly the same.At least 1 of them has a difference.I also learn nort to be naughty enough to lead my friends into trouble and not be like Princess Mirror-Belle...
My favourite character:Ellen, she thinks about other people also not only herself, she is not proud and selfish..She is also very obedient, always listening what her parents had to say.
My dislike character:Princess Mirror-Belle,she thinks that she is the most richest person in the universe and show off everywhere and also very naughty, always bullying Ellen..but she takes Ellen to experience the amazing and exciting adventures....

STORY:HOW TO BE POPULAR by meg cabotThis story started in the high school where Stephanie Landry also known as Steph started with a "being popular" plan she sacrifices her relationship with her friends. On the other hand she also started to hang out with popular students in the high school like Mark and his other clicks. She took lots of risks for example lending his grandfather's observatory for Todd's birhtday party.
In this book they also tell me that being popular is not great deal as your usual friend wil think that you are either weird or wanting just popularity
In this story the main characters are:
1)Mark Finely 2) Lauren 3) Jason 4)Becca 5) Stephanie Landry
My favourite character is Stephanie Landry:
My reasons for liking her is because she teaches the meaning of popularity as in like the advantages and the disadvantages of it.
My least favourite character is Lauren:
My reasons for disliking her is because she took advantage of her friends. For example being good to then only when she desperately needed help. She never fo
rgives and forget whatever her friends had accidentaly did to her in the past while her friend now still feel guilty about it since Lauren has not apologise yet.
I would like to recommend this book to my friends as it is a very exciting book about friendship as well as popularity.
